Project Team

President

Jack Byers is the President of Jack 'N Tool Box, Inc.  He founded the company 22 years ago and maintains an active role in all operations.   Mr. Byers monitors all projects and the performance of the Project Managers and Superintendents through daily communications and site visits.

Vice President

Ed Hurd is the Vice President of Jack 'N Tool Box, Inc. and has been employed by Jack 'N Tool Box, Inc. for 10 years.  He is responsible for all aspects of construction execution in accordance with The Contract and the Owner’s requirements. The VP’s key functions are to effectively plan, organize and control field operations.  His responsibilities include client interaction, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor management, personnel management, safety and quality control.

The Vice President has the authority to act and execute on behalf of the Company.

Superintendent

Peter Gerlach is the Superintendent of Jack 'N Tool Box, Inc. Mr. Gerlach has over 30 years of experience in the building construction trades and has been supervising projects at Jack 'N Tool Box, Inc. for 12 years.

The Superintendent is the onsite field representative who is responsible for the daily field activities of the project.  This includes coordination and supervision of field personnel and subcontractors, material deliveries, interfacing with City Building Inspectors and client interaction. The Superintendent is also responsible for verifying conformance with safety procedures on a daily basis.  The Superintendent keeps a daily construction log of the project activities that include daily tasks performed, construction issues and resolutions, subcontractor notes, labor scheduling and material delivery records.

In addition to his supervisory duties, the Superintendent performs trade work when appropriate.

The quality of our labor force allows the company to self-perform work for a variety of trades which results in good control of the job schedule and a high quality finished product. The work performed by our crews includes:

Subcontractors

Over the past 22 years of its existence, Jack 'N Tool Box has developed a reliable network of subcontractors.  Listed below are the elements of work likely to be subcontracted:

·        Site work: excavation and grading.

·        Structural Steel: steel beams, posts and brackets.

·        Sheet metal: flashings, gutters and downspouts.

·        Concrete: structural, flatwork and colored concrete.

·        Masonry: brick, CMU and stone.

·        Stucco: smooth, Spanish and blown.

·        Roofing: composition, cement shingles, spray-on and hot-mopped.

·        Electrical: rough and finish electrical, and lighting.          

·        Plumbing: rough and finish plumbing, and bathroom fixtures.

·        HVAC: ducting, registers, heating and cooling units.

·        Flooring: carpeting, vinyl and wood.
